High surf advisory issued for east shores

Advertiser Staff

The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory for east-facing shores, with surf expected to reach 6 to 9 feet.

North-facing shores will see surf 5 to 8 feet, while west-facing shores will see surf 2 to 4 feet and south shores will see surf 1 to 3 feet.

The north northeast swell will taper off Tuesday, dropping surf below the 8 foot advisory level on the east facing shores. A northwest swell arriving late Friday is expected to peak just below the advisory level of 15 feet on the north shore Friday night.
