Green waste turned away at Hanalei, Kapa'a transfer stations

Advertiser Staff

Green waste is not being accepted at the Hanalei and Kapa'a refuse transfer stations on Kaua'i until further notice because of safety worries. Drop-off areas have become very muddy.

In the meantime, residents may drop off green waste at the Lihu'e or Hanapepe transfer station, or the Kekaha Landfill.

The green waste drop-off service at the Hanalei and Kapa'a transfer station will resume when conditions at the sites improve.

For more information, call the Solid Waste Division at 241-4837.
