Two Oahu men charged with separate sex assaults

Two men were charged yesterday with first-degree sexual assault in separate cases.

Ernest Kapu, 57, arrested Sunday night at his Kauaopu'u Street home in Wai'anae, is accused of first-degree sex assault, two counts of second-degree sex assault and fourth-degree sex assault. The victim, a 20-year-old woman, told police she was attacked Sunday between midnight and 1 a.m. at a Wai'anae home.

Kapu's bail is $15,000.

Warren Foster Ford, 40, of Akiohala Street, was arrested Sunday at 4:35 p.m. at his Enchanted Lakes home and charged yesterday with first-degree sex assault. The complainant is a 31-year-old woman. The alleged attack occured Sunday at 8:50 a.m.

Ford is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Both Kapu and Ford are scheduled for initial appearances today in District Court.
