Northeast swell raises surf in some areas

Advertiser Staff

Surf along east facing shores will be 3 to 6 feet through today except 6 to 10 feet for areas exposed to a northeast swell, the National Weather Service said.

Surf along north facing shores will be 6 to 9 feet, while surf along west and south shores will be 3 feet or less.

The north northeast swell is expected to slowly taper off through the week, with possibly the surf lowering below advisory level for east facing shores tomorrow.

There will be a series of northwest swells the second half of the week. The first is a moderate north northwest swell slated to arrive Wednesday night. A slightly larger northwest swell follows in Friday night and peaking Saturday. The surf from these two swells will stay below advisory level of 15 feet for the north facing shores.
