WAI'ANAE
Church invites everyone to celebrate its 50 years

The public is invited to attend the 50th anniversary celebration of Wai'anae United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The white wooden church is at 85-671 Farrington Highway, near the fire station.

The church has three congregations, Tongan, Samoan and English, and the anniversary will be a cultural celebration of each, through singing and dance.

"Our church is a small, loving congregation that has come alive with new energy and desire to be a participant in solving some of the challenges our community faces," said pastor Debra Murray.

Participants are asked to bring a canned good to the celebration so the church can distribute the food to area homeless shelters.
