HAWAII WOODSHOW OPENS TONIGHT

Koa, mango and kiawe are among the locally grown woods carved, sanded and shaped into works of art on display at the state's annual Hawaii's Woodshow. Don't miss Big Island woodworker Robert Holden's specially commissioned rocking horse, celebrating Hawai'i's Year of the Paniolo. Five master woodworkers compete for the award of excellence. The opening reception is 6:30 to 9 tonight; $5. Exhibit hours: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Hawai'i Convention Center; www.hawaiiforest.org.
