Power still out following Waianae crash

An early-morning crash near Wai'anae Valley Road continues to leave some residents without power this morning.

The 12:27 a.m. crash originally knocked out power to about 2,000 homes. Hawaiian Electric Co. crews expect to work through the afternoon restoring power to about 50 homes.

Honolulu police said a vehicle hit and damaged several telephone poles in the area of 85-419 Wai'anae Valley Road.

Traffic was diverted to Macarthur and Momona streets.
