NFL: Injured Bengals CB Joseph out for year

Associated Press

CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Bengals starting cornerback Johnathan Joseph will miss the rest of the season with a foot injury.

The team on Friday placed Joseph on injured reserve, the third defensive starter lost to injury this season after linebacker Keith Rivers and safety Dexter Jackson.

Joseph missed two early games with the injury, but had played in six straight games before aggravating it Sunday against Philadelphia. He didn't play in Thursday night's loss at Pittsburgh.

Second-year player David Jones takes over Joseph's starting spot. Joseph was the Bengals' No. 1 draft choice in 2006.

Rookie cornerback Simeon Castille was signed off the practice squad. He played in the Bengals' first four games.
