Pau hana means liquid refreshment of a mostly alcoholic nature, as if partiers didn't already know that. The menu includes wine and other drinks, and signature drinks that range from $8 (South Pacific Spiced Margarita) to $18 (Shark Bite Bloody Mary, serves three or more).

Don't call it Oceans (its real name was Ocean Club, anyway).

Call it Oceans 808, which officially opens today in the very spot where pau-hana partygoers used to line up outside for a chance to mingle with other partygoers at Restaurant Row. This Oceans, too, caters to the 23-and-older crowd; they can expect themed nightly parties and other one-off events down the line.

The venue has gotten a bit of a facelift but retains the outdoor lanai and local emphasis.

Dress code: smart-casual, which means no baseball caps, board shorts and slippers. After all, this is Oceans, not the beach.

Hours are from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. Mondays to Saturdays.
