WAIKELE
Buyer paying $23 million for Waikele Golf Club

The Waikele Golf Club has been sold for $23 million, according to recent filings.

The new owner of the club is Waikele Country Club Inc., whose president is Ji Yong Park.

No one from the club was available to speak yesterday, but those close to the sale say no major changes will be made at the club.

Chicago-based KLC Land Co. in May announced that the club was up for sale.

The sale closed Nov. 12, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

KLC, formerly known as Kaanapali Land LLC, is the successor company that emerged from Amfac Hawaii's bankruptcy reorganization.

Waikele Golf Club has a par 72, 6,663-yard course designed by Ted Robinson. The club opened in 1993.

In 2006, the club closed for six months for major renovations.
