LAHAINA
Garbage collection goes automated on Monday

Automated refuse service for approximately 1,500 Lahaina homes will begin Monday.

The county Department of Environmental Management said that on collection days, residents should place their brown automated refuse cart at the curb, at least 5 feet from any obstructions. Pick-up may occur anytime between 5 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Trash will be collected twice a week. For pick-up days by street name, check at www.mauicounty.gov/refusecollectiondays.htm or call 270-7452.

To open a new refuse collection service account ($168 per year), call the Refuse and Landfill Accounts Office at 270-7720 or apply at www.mauicounty.gov/refuseapp.pdf.
