BYUH's Whitford 18th at NCAA Cross Country Championships

Brigham Young-Hawai'i senior Amanda Whitford finished 18th at this afternoon's NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships in Slippery Rock, Pa.

Whitford completed the 6-kilometer course in 22 minutes, 16 seconds. Seattle Pacific's Jessica Pixler won the race in 20:59. There were 189 finishers. Adams State won the team title with 79 points.

At the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships in Hanover, Ind., Amherst (Mass.) junior Nicole Anderson finished 234th with a 6K time of 23:44.20. Anderson is an 'Iolani graduate. Amherst, the defending champion, finished 28th out of 31 teams with 569 points. Middlebury won the title with 179 points. Marie Borner of Bethel (Minn.) won the race in 20:43.91. There were 279 finishers.
