LOS ANGELES — A man has been charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly striking "Stargate Atlantis" actor Jason Momoa (formerly of "Baywatch Hawaii") in the face with a beer glass, causing wounds that required 140 stitches.

Prosecutors said yesterday that Momoa had to have reconstructive surgery.

Dominic Bando is accused of attacking Momoa at a Hollywood restaurant Nov. 15. Bando, 21, was arrested and released that day.

Momoa, 29, was born in Honolulu and has a daughter with girlfriend Lisa Bonet.

NEWMAN'S CARS GOING UP FOR BID

WESTPORT, Conn. — Paul Newman has left his assets to his wife, his Oscars to his foundation and his race cars to the highest bidder.

In a will made public this week, Newman, who died in September, leaves his personal property, including real estate, to Joanne Woodward.

The 10-time Academy Award nominee, who won one Oscar and took home two honorary ones, leaves those statues and other awards to the Newman's Own Foundation. Interest in the Newman's Own and Salad King companies also went to the foundation, which will distribute the profits to charity.

The will directs that his airplane and race cars be sold, with proceeds going to his estate.

WILLIS IS OFFERED HIS MONEY BACK

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — A Malaysian technology conglomerate pledged yesterday to repay $900,000 to Hollywood star Bruce Willis, but denied any wrongdoing after he took legal action to demand a refund of his investment.

The Petra Group said Willis in 2007 invested $2 million in its Green Rubber subsidiary, which develops technology to recycle rubber from old tires.

Petra returned $1.1 million to Willis earlier this year when he decided to pull out. U.S. news reports said the star of the "Die Hard" action films filed a court complaint in Los Angeles this week to recoup the remaining $900,000.

The company said in an e-mail to the Associated Press that it intends to pay Willis the balance "within the next few weeks" and that he need not have gone to court.

FCC APPEALS JACKSON CASE

PHILADELPHIA — The Federal Communications Commission has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review the indecency case over Janet Jackson's brief flash of breast during a performance at the 2004 Super Bowl. She said was a wardrobe accident as she performed with Justin Timberlake.

The FCC this week appealed a ruling by the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia. The FCC said that court was wrong to throw out the case and a $550,000 fine against CBS Corp. in July. The appellate court cited the FCC practice of not considering objectionable images indecent if they are "fleeting."

DEPP FILM CAUSES A ROAD TO RUIN

MADISON, Wis. — County officials in Wisconsin are holding the bag following a movie shoot involving Johnny Depp as famed bank robber John Dillinger.

During filming of "Public Enemies" — Wisconsin's first film under the governor's new movie incentives — state highway traffic was diverted away from the center of Columbus. The detour road couldn't stand the load — and collapsed.

Dodge County was left with a $116,000 repair. It's filed a claim against Columbus that could lead to a lawsuit.

Columbus Mayor Nancy Osterhaus says the city is in talks with the county and film studio NBC Universal, hoping they might split the bill.
