TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Oregon's Galen Rupp outran Liberty's Sam Chelanga to win the men's NCAA cross country title, as Rupp's team grabbed its second consecutive championship.

Sally Kipyego of Texas Tech won the women's title and top-ranked Washington captured the women's team championship during races Monday in Terre Haute (TEHR'-uh HOHT'), Ind.

Rupp, a member of the U.S. Olympic team in the 10,000 meters this summer, won the NCAA title a year after finishing second in the championship race. Chelanga of Kenya finished five seconds behind Rupp.
