Man robbed of wallet, vehicle in Pearl City

Advertiser Staff

Two men, one of them carrying a double-barrel shotgun, took a man's wallet and his vehicle late last night in Pearl City.

The robbery at an area park was reported to police at 11:55 p.m.

The 20-year-old man and a woman, also 20, were seated in a vehicle when a black sports utility vehicle drove up. Two masked men from the vehicle confronted the couple and ordered the male victim to open the door of his vehicle. One of the suspects, standing outside the passenger's side door, had a shotgun.

When the driver refused to open the door, one of the suspects used an unknown object to break the window. The couple were ordered outside. The male victim was robbed of his wallet. The suspects then drove off in the man's vehicle.

Last night's robbery does not appear to be related to recent takeover bar holdups in which one of two gunmen is carrying a shotgun, police said.
