Prosecutors have charged a Makiki man in the stabbing of a cab driver.

Courage Lee Elkshoulder, 34, of a Hassinger Street address, was charged Saturday with attempted murder and held in lieu of $150,000 bail pending an appearance today in District Court.

Police said during the Nov. 15 robbery the cab driver, 54, was stabbed in the neck and taken to The Queen's Medical Center in serious but stable condition.

Elkshoulder, accompanied by attorney Eric Seitz, surrendered Friday at the main station. CrimeStoppers had released surveillance photos of two suspects taken on Pensacola Street on Thursday.

Police said two men flagged the driver in Makiki and asked him to take them to Manoa Valley. Once at their destination, one man pulled a knife. The driver and suspect struggled, and the driver was stabbed several times. The men then fled.

The second man was believed to have left the Islands, police said.
