Second event in Vans Triple Crown of Surfing postponed

Advertiser Staff

The second event in the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing is postponed today due to a lack of quality waves at Sunset Beach.

Contest officials still need five days of competition to complete the O'Neill World Cup of Surfing men's contest and Roxy Pro women's contest. The contests will run only on days when waves are favorable.

Several swells are expected to arrive on O'ahu's North Shore this week, and the competition could begin tomorrow.

The first Triple Crown event was completed last week at Haleiwa Alii Beach. Tahiti's Michel Bourez won the men's contest, and Honolulu's Carissa Moore won the women's contest.
