The season of giving is here, and it's your chance to be an angel. The Children's Alliance of Hawaii helps abused children through its annual Christmas Angels Project. TREE-LIGHTING AN OCCASION FOR A CELEBRATION

An East Honolulu Christmas tree-lighting celebration is coming up, 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Hawaii Kai Towne Center. The event will feature a stage performance by Chris da Clown, face-painting by Aloha Clowns and a Santa visit. Hula will be provided by Ka Hale I o Kahala Halau Hula, with Christmas music by the Holy Trinity School Choir. Want a seat? Get there early. Information: 396-0766.
