6- to 8-foot waves expected on North Shore today

Advertiser Staff

Surf along north-facing shores will be six to eight feet today, according to the National Weather Service.

Elsewhere on O'ahu, surf along west and east facing shores will be 4 to 6 feet, and 1 to 3 feet along south facing shores.

A large northwest swell will build tomorrow, which will produce surf heights well above the high surf advisory thresholds along north and west facing shores.

This northwest swell is expected to continue to build tomorrow night and Saturday, with surf heights near high-surf warning levels along north and west facing shores.

This swell will gradually diminish from Sunday night through Monday morning, before the next large northwest swell builds Monday night.
