West Oahu conference deadline near

Tuesday is the deadline to register for the fifth annual West O'ahu Conference on Dec. 5.

Titled "West O'ahu: From Vision to Reality," the conference provides an overview of economic development in West O'ahu.

Sponsored by the West O'ahu Economic Development Association, it will take place at the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa's Ocean Ballroom.

The keynote speaker is Djuan Rivers, vice president of Disney Vacation Club Resort Hawai'i, who will talk about the upcoming Disney Vacation Club Resort that broke ground this month at Ko Olina.

Other scheduled speakers include David Rae, vice president of Kapolei Property Development; Jeff Arce of the MacNaughton Group and Roger Wall of Foodland, whose two companies are planning shopping centers in Kapolei; Ko Olina developer Jeff Stone; Island Pacific Academy headmaster Dan White; University of Hawai'i-West O'ahu Chancellor Gene Awakuni and Department of Education official Randy Moore; and Hawai'i Supreme Court Chief Justice Ronald Moon, who will talk about the new Kapolei judiciary complex.

Registration fee is $75 for association members, $85 for non-members. The fee includes continental breakfast, buffet lunch, conference materials and self-parking with validation. Tables of 10 can be purchased for $750.
