Surf: Kauai, Niihau may see 26 feet today

A high surf warning remains in effect for the north- and west-facing shores of Kauai and Niihau, but the warning has been replaced with a high surf advisory for north- and west-facing shores on Oahu, Molokai, Maui and the Big Island.

A large, northwest swell will continue to roll up against Hawaii shores today and tonight, with the largest surf expected along the north and west shores of Kauai and Niihau.

Wave faces of 18 to 24 feet are expected today and tonight along north-facing shores of all islands except Niihau and Kauai.

A high surf warning will remain in effect for the latter two islands until 6 p.m. Sunday.The north and west shores of Niihau and Kauai may see surf of 22 to 26 feet today and tonight, the National Weather Service said.

Elsewhere on Oahu, look for surf of 3 to 5 feet along east-facing shores and 1 to 3 feet todayalong south-facing shores.
