Police arrested one man and are looking for another in connection with an early-morning burglary and auto theft in Kalaeloa.

The suspect, a 43-year-old Nanakuli man, was a passenger in a vehicle stolen in a burglary at a moving/shipping business. Naval federal police officers pursued the vehicle from Kalaeloa to Kapolei, where the passenger was detained for police. The driver fled on foot and has not been captured.

Police said in addition to the vehicle, some items stolen in the burglary have been recovered.

The suspect in custody was arrested at Kaiau Avenue and Owakalena Street at 2:30 a.m. for investigation of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, second-degree theft and possession of burglary tools.

The suspect has 26 prior convictions, according to Hawai'i Criminal Justice Data Center records.
