Starwood Hotels & Resorts' "Big Give Hawai'i," an online auction of room packages and spa treatments ends at midnight tonight. Island residents can bid on items such as a two-night stay at Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa where the starting bid is at $160 (the regular published rate is $700).

Or, if you prefer Kaua'i, a two-night stay at the Sheraton Kauai Resort starting bid is $210 (the regular published rate is $840).

The auction is for travel between Dec. 8 and Jan. 31. Twenty percent of the proceeds will benefit the Hawaii Foodbank and Neighbor Island food banks. Winning bidders must show proof of Hawai'i residency. www.biggivehawaii.com.

The class is recommended for anyone who wants to improve their photo skills and who has a basic understanding of their digital or film camera, whether it's a point-and-shoot or an adjustable single lens reflex model.
