Imagine a shark with a 6-foot jaw span. Megalodon, ancestor of the modern-day great white and mako sharks, dominated the seas worldwide until its extinction 2 million years ago. At the Bishop Museum, you can take a stroll through a 60-foot-long sculpture of Big M, in the museum's upcoming exhibition "Megalodon: Largest Shark That Ever Lived." Learn about the evolution and extinction of megalodon, and see fossils of modern and prehistoric sharks.

The exhibition, produced by Florida Museum of Natural Science, is showing Oct. 11 to Jan. 11 at the Castle Memorial Building, Bishop Museum. www.bishopmuseum.org.
