Haleiwa Shingon Mission set Oct. 26 for gratitude, thanksgiving seminar

The Haleiwa Shingon Mission, with the support of its Koyasan Head Temple/Sanyokai, hosts its free, 13th Thanksgiving & Gratitude seminar 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 26 at the mission, 66-469 Pa'ala'a Road.

Historian John S. Tanaka, the author of "Yesterday's Rainbow," will discuss "Hidden & Unwritten History: Kingdom of Hawaii."

Candi Cann who is completing her Ph.D. in religion at Harvard University, will talk about "Religion in Contemporary China."

And George Tanabe, the retired chairman of the religion department at the University of Hawai'i, will discuss "China: The Mother of Japanese Buddhism."
