HONOLULU — Dr. Andy Baldwin, tri-athlete, health/fitness advocate, humanitarian, and centerpiece of ABC's 2007 television series "The Bachelor", will be back in Hawai'i for the second annual Andy Baldwin Youth Fitness Day on Sunday, Oct. 12.

Baldwin is dedicated to educating and inspiring children on the importance of healthy living. Keiki O Ka Aina Family Learning Centers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building strong communities through education and family-strengthening activities.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Keiki O Ka Aina Community Center, 3097 Kalihi St.

Hawai'i's keiki will be treated to a day of fun and education on health and fitness, event organizers said. Mixed martial artists will be on hand for demonstrations. Baldwin will host fitness sessions and there will be nutrition experts to assist keiki with creating healthy snacks.

Children and parents who wish to attend should reserve a spot by calling 843-2502.

"I am extremely excited to come back to what feels like my second home: the Islands of Hawai'i," Baldwin said in a news release. "I felt the love and aloha from the people of Hawai'i so much during and after my time on TV and embraced the chance to give back in my work while there with the Special Olympics, YMCA, Hale Keiki School, Lokahi, and helping with Keiki O Ka Aina and building a new house for the Akana Family; Hawaii's Extreme Makeover recipient."

Baldwin has competed in the Ironman five times since 2001. This year he is traveling to Kona to assist with the PR and the medical tent at the event. Baldwin is returning to Hawai'i for the first time since April 2008 when he relocated to Washington, D.C., where he is now working for the Navy Surgeon General. He has numerous speaking engagements planned in Honolulu.
