Olympic gold medalist Bryan Clay to host free clinics

Olympic gold medal decathlete Bryan Clay is hosting autograph sessions and free speed clinics on O'ahu, Kaua'i and Lana'i this week and next.

The following are Clay's scheduled appearances:

• Friday on O'ahu—Autograph signing. 4 to 7 p.m at Straub Clinic & Hospital Cafe (888 S. King St.). Information: 522-4479.

• Saturday on O'ahu—Free Straub Speed Training Clinic, for children ages 12 to 18. Learn running mechanics, strength training, sports nutrition and periodization techniques. Limited to first 300 registered children. 9 a.m. to noon at the University of Hawai'i's Cooke Field. Information: 522-4479.

• Sunday on Kaua'i—Free Straub Speed Training Clinic, for children ages 7 to 18. Learn running mechanics, strength training, sports nutrition and periodization techniques. Limited to first 300 registered children. Noon to 3 p.m. at Vidinha Stadium. Information: 808-245-1198.

• Oct. 14 on O'ahu—Teen & Youth Obesity: A Time for Action Presentation. 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Mamiya Theatre, Saint Louis School (3142 Wai'alae Ave.). Information: 522-4479.
