Campbell Industrial Park explosion victim identified

The city Department of the Medical Examiner today identified Sean M. Norva, 23, of Waipahu as the welder killed yesterday in an explosion at Campbell Industrial Park.

Cause of death is listed as multiple injuries due to an industrial accident and manner as accidental.

Norva was performing welding work at the Philip Services Corporation yard about 1:30 p.m. when a waste oil tank exploded, killing him.

Three other workers were injured in the incident.

The Honolulu Fire Department has yet to determine what caused the explosion or damage estimates. Hawai'i Occupational Safety & Health is also investigating the incident.
