Weather: Sunny, warm and a few isolated showers

A high pressure area to the north of the islands will result in strengthening trade winds today, with the trades expected to last through much of the weekend, the National Weather Service said.

As trades return, expect clouds and showers to form mostly over the windward and mauka areas.

A developing trough next week will likely disrupt the trade wind flow once again, forecasters said.

Today: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 84. East wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Scattered showers, mainly after midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 82. East wind around 15 mph.

Friday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. East wind between 11 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 82. East wind between 13 and 15 mph.

Saturday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. East wind between 10 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
