A Kona man is being held on $9,000 bail today after being charged with first-degree robbery, promoting a dangerous drug and possessing drug paraphernalia, police said.

The incident occurred at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday at a convenience store and gas station on Kuakini Highway, police said. The man entered the station wearing a mask and holding a knife. He demanded money from the cashier and then fled in his truck with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Two hours after the incident, police located Gregory Bennett at another gas station on Lako Street. He was taken to the Kona police cellblock, while detectives continued investigating. Police obtained a search warrant of the man's truck and recovered 4.9 grams of a crystal substance. Bennett made his appearance in court today.
