It's "Clay Day!" at the Hawai'i State Art Museum, which is featuring members of the Hawaii Potters Guild at Second Saturday, the monthly interactive event that's oh so family-friendly.

Today you can help create a mini clay city, try the potter's wheel on the museum lawn and create refrigerator magnets and brooches. It's happening from 11 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., but all the galleries are open for viewing from

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. 586-0900.

By the way, the museum is looking for volunteers — especially folks who are outgoing, patient with kids and have hands-on experience with arts and crafts — to help with its popular Second Saturday events. Interested? E-mail Teri at hisam2ndsaturday@gmail.com.
