Suspect at large in robbery of UH security officer

Police are looking for a man in his 30s who robbed a security guard at knifepoint early today near the University of Hawai'i-Manoa campus.

In an alert issued to UH students, officials said the incident happened about 4 a.m. at the National Marine Fisheries Service building on Dole Street.

The robber was described as being 6 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds, with a muscular build. He has a black crew-cut and was wearing a black jacket, shorts and slippers.

Police ask anyone who has information on the case to call them at 911 or campus security at 956-6911.
