NFL: Seahawks sign RB Forsett, release WR Bumpus

Associated Press

RENTON, Wash. — The Seattle Seahawks signed rookie running back Justin Forsett from the practice squad today and released wide receiver Michael Bumpus.

Forsett was reacquired by the Seahawks last week after he was released by Indianapolis. Forsett played well in the preseason, but didn't make Seattle's final 53-man roster. He was quickly picked up by the Colts and appeared in three games before his release.

Bumpus was the Seahawks fifth receiver and had five catches for 48 yards and a touchdown in four games this season. The Seahawks expect to have receiver Deion Branch available Sunday against Tampa Bay after he missed last week's loss to Green Bay with a bruised heel.
