HIFF adds free shows, appearances and additional film times

Hawaii International Film Festival programmers have added screenings of award-winning and audience favorite films,

"Noho Hewa: The Wrongful Occupation of Hawai'i," Halekulani Golden Orchid Award-winner for Best Documentary screens at 3:30 p.m. Friday and 6:45 p.m. Sunday. Both screenings are now free.

"Chief" screens at noon on Saturday; $5 admission includes a Q&A with director, Brett Wagner and Sielu Avea, the Samoan star of the film.

Sunday screenings:

"The Hollow," Viewers Choice Award, powered by Oceanic Time Warner Cable: Playing with "Listen to Me" at 11 a.m.

"Cape No. 7," Halekulani Golden Orchid Award for Best Narrative Feature: 11:30 a.m.

"Texas Girl," Honorable Mention, Honolulu Magazine Award for Best Short Film: Playing with "Absurdistan" at 5 p.m.

"Coffee and Allah," Honolulu Magazine Award for Best Short Film: Playing with "Heart of Fire" at 5:30 p.m.

"Living Pono with Jason Scott Lee": 3:45 p.m.

"The Good, the Bad, the Weird": 7:30 p.m.

"Boys over Flowers": 8 p.m.
