Recycle scrap, clothes, appliances, more Oct. 25

Residents who want to recycle their bulky and other trash items can bring them to Stevenson Middle School on Oct. 25 for recycling.

Items that will be accepted include scrap metal, appliances, newspaper and cardboard, recyclable beverage containers, old tires, green waste, batteries, reusable household items and clothing (for donation to Goodwill), cell phones, printer cartridges, laptop and desk computers, telephone books and magazines, cooking oil and used eyeglasses and hearing aids.

Also, Family Towing is offering free towing service for unwanted cars.

The event will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the school parking lot, at 1202 Prospect St.

For more information, to get free towing for an unwanted car or to arrange for pickup of items, call 306-1876.

Proceeds will benefit the Roosevelt High School music department.
