Weather: Sunny today, pleasant this weekend

A high pressure area far to the northeast of the state is providing pleasant trade wind weather that should continue through the weekend, the National Weather Service said.

Scattered showers will affect mainly the the windward and mountain areas but a few sprinkles will at times pass over the leeward sections, forecasters said.

Here's a closer look at what to expect through the weekend:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Tonight: Scattered showers after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday: Isolated showers after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 85. East wind between 11 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 85. East wind between 11 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
