Surf: 4 to 6 feet expected later today on South Shore

Surf along the south-facing shores of O'ahu is expected to under go a bump upwards today, reaching 4 to 6 feet by this afternoon, the National Weather Service said.

Elsewhere, look for surf of 2 to 4 feet along north- and east-facing shores, and 1to 3 feet along west-facing shores, forecasters said.

Outlook through Wednesday, Oct. 22: The ongoing northwest swell will slowly lower through the weekend. Another small northwest swell is expected Monday, lingering into Tuesday, with the next northwest swell expected Wednesday.

The south swell arriving today will peak Saturday then slowly subside through early next week. The short period east swells will continue throughout the forecast period.
