Uke players gather at Maui fest

Ohta-San (Herb Ohta Sr.), right, Manoa DNA, Paula Fuga, Richard Ho'opi'i, Uluwehi Guerrero and others are part of the third annual Maui 'Ukulele Festival, at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's A&B Amphitheater. Gates open at 1:30 p.m. Admission is free.

There are giveaways, and food and drinks available for purchase, too (no coolers allowed). Bring your low-backed chairs or blankets to sit on.

Today, from 10 to 11 a.m. at McCoy Studio, there's a free 'ukulele workshop for kids and adults, as long as they can can hold C, F and G7 chords. Bring your own instruments,

paper and pencil. RSVP for the workshop at info@mauiarts.org.
