Today is the last day to get a quick climb in up to the Diamond Head State Monument before it closes down for a month's worth of maintenance and repairs.

The State Department of Land and Natural Resources will be closed Monday through Nov. 20 for maintenance to the slopes and to eliminate potential rockfall hazards along the trail.

The park area inside the crater (the parking lot and adjacent fields, the restroom and information booth) will remain open to the public during most of the work.
