Search resumes for missing kayaker off Big Island

Advertiser Staff

The search for a kayaker missing from Kapa'a Beach Park on the Big Island is continuing today.

Miguel Serrino, a 26-year-old Big Island resident, was last seen wearing multicolored shorts and a dark blue T-shirt. He was last seen on Saturday evening before rough seas separated him from his group.

The U.S. Coast Guard has been searching overnight and the Big Island Fire Department is resuming its search at first light this morning.

Anyone with information about Serrino is asked to call Coast Guard Sector Honolulu at 808-842-2600.
