Among the weeklong O'ahu activities of a group of 10 volunteers from The Univers Foundation in Japan will be a visit to Wai'anae to prepare and distribute food for the homeless population at Kea'au Beach Park.

The volunteer group is part of a cultural exchange program being established between The Univers Foundation and the St. Francis Healthcare System on O'ahu.

Throughout the week the group will be involved in cultural activities around O'ahu, before returning to Japan at week's end.

On Wednesday the volunteers will be working with Our Lady of Kea'au in Wai'anae, which is affiliated with the St. Francis Healthcare system.

Next year, a group from St. Francis will be traveling to Japan as guests of The Univers Foundation.
