Advertiser Staff

A Kaka'ako man who pleaded no contest to misdemeanor third-degree negligent homicide in the 2006 death of a pedestrian was sentenced to jail and his driver's license was suspended for one year.

Thai H.T. Vo, 29, of a Kawaiaha'o Street address, was the driver of a 2002 Nissan Sentra turning left onto Kina'u Street that struck Jadelin Nakamura, 47, while she was in a crosswalk. Nakamura suffered multiple injuries and was taken to The Queen's Medical Center, where she died on Aug. 19, a day after the accident.
