TechTalk 2008 will offer job training, workshops

Windward Community College will host TechTalk 2008, featuring job training for high-growth and emerging industries, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Hale 'Akoakoa Building.

The conference will be one-stop shopping trip for those looking for short-term training or degree programs in transportation, aerospace, biotechnology, computer technology, construction, education, financial services, healthcare, hospitality, information technology, media arts and design, and sustainable industries.

TechTalk 2008 is designed for managers, business owners, teachers, counselors, students and parents, and will help people to keep informed about the current trends in training and services that are available in Hawai'i.

There also will be presentations and workshops on topics ranging from iChat video conferencing, WordPress blogging, Google Docs, Garage Band, online career explorations, organic agriculture, digital media workflow for educators, the future of information technology and inappropriate use of technology in the workplace.
