OIA White kicks off playoffs

The four-team O'ahu Interscholastic Association White football tournament starts this weekend.

On Friday, fourth-seeded 'Aiea plays top seed Radford at John Velasco Stadium. A JV playoff between Kalaheo and Radford starts at 5 p.m. The varsity will follow.

Also Friday, third-seeded Kalaheo plays at second-seeded Campbell. A JV game between Kaiser and Campbell starts at 4 p.m. with the varsity to follow.

Winners qualify for the Division II state tournament. The OIA White championship will be Nov. 7 at Aloha Stadium prior to the Red championship.

The Red quarterfinals are Friday. Kapolei plays Farrington at Roosevelt's Ticky Vasconcellos Stadium in an OC 16-televised game. Also, Kaimuki plays Leilehua at Hugh Yoshida Stadium, Mililani plays Kahuku at Carleton Weimer Field, and Castle plays Wai'anae at Raymond Torii Field. All three games will be preceded by a JV game starting at 5 p.m.

Winners advance to the semifinals Oct. 31 at Aloha Stadium.

The top three teams advance to the Division I state tournament.
