New north-northwest swell expected tonight

Advertiser Staff

A north-northwest swell is expected to hit the Hawaiian Islands tonight and peak Friday, the National Weather Service said.

That swell will subside Saturday, but another swell is expected Friday night and should last through the weekend.

Surf along east-facing shores will build during the end of this week because of increasing trade winds, the National Weather Service said.

Today, surf will be 2 feet to 4 feet along east-facing shores, 2 feet to 3 feet along north shores and 1 fot to 3 feet along south and west shores.
