China-made cookies in Island recall

Advertiser Staff

Lotte USA Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of Koala's March CrEme Filled Cookies, the state Department of Health announced Monday.

State health officials received notice from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and have been contacting retailers, wholesalers and distributors statewide, asking them to remove the product from sale and contact their distributors for more information.

The voluntary recall by the manufacturer is due to possible melamine contamination.

Consumers who purchased the made-in-China cookies are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a refund or discard them.

For more information, call Lotte USA at 269-963-6664, Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
