The Friends of Kamalani & Lydgate Park will be doing a National Make a Difference Day beautification and clean-up project on Kaua'i which will result in the closure of Kamalani Playground in Wailua tomorrow and Saturday.

A county crew will be clearing the area tomorrow in preparation for Saturday's community project which starts at 7:30 a.m.

Volunteers plan to spread wood fiber chips at the playground and will plant shade trees at nearby Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Sports Park.

Anyone wishing to help should bring shovels, rakes, retractable utility knives, wheel barrows, garden carts, as well as their own water bottles. Gloves and closed toe shoes should be worn.

Free lunch will be served to all participants.

For more information, call the Department of Parks and Recreation at 241-4460 or The Friends of Kamalani & Lydgate Park at 245-5959.
