TONIGHT'S MIGHT-SEES

"Kath & Kim," 7:30 p.m., NBC. Kath is giddy about marrying Phil. Then her daughter, Kim, grumbles that the mom is too old for a big wedding. Also, jealousy looms. Is Phil seeing a younger woman? Is Craig (Kim's estranged husband) seeing someone?

Don't expect many big laughs. Still, it's a bright-feeling show with fun characters.

"High School Musical 2" (2007), 8-10 p.m., Disney Channel. On the eve of the third "High School Musical" — the first for theaters — we're reminded of why these are so popular.

The stories are weak, but everything else works. The stars — Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Corbin Bleu, more — are immensely likable. The music is bouncy; Kenny Ortega's direction and choreography are vibrant, as you'll see in the opening number.

OF NOTE

• "Saw" (2004) 3:30 p.m. and "Saw II" (2005), 6 p.m., Sci Fi Channel; "Saw III" (2006), 5:10 p.m., Showtime. Wasn't Halloween supposed to be fun? Do we really need three torture films tonight?

• "Ugly Betty," 7 p.m., ABC. Lindsay Lohan is back as Kimmie. Tonight, she asks Betty to help her get a job; that will lead to aftershocks next week.

• "Grey's Anatomy," 8 p.m., ABC. Bailey heads "domino surgery," in which each procedure must lead to the next.

• "The Office," 8 p.m., NBC. It's date night for Michael and Holly. Meanwhile, Pam needs a part-time corporate job to pay for art school.

• "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. A new CSI agent arrives. She's played by Lauren Lee Smith, 28, a Canadian who has already ranged from the "Christy" miniseries to the "Mutant X" and "L Word" series. This story involves murder victims frozen in position.

• "Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday," 8:31 p.m., NBC. Here's the last of three Thursday editions.

• "ER," 9 p.m., NBC. Heading out for coffee, Banfield (Angela Bassett) has to defend herself. Meanwhile, the injuries to a young gymnast draw suspicions.
