Weather: Showers likely through the weekend

The trade winds will weaken today, becoming light and variable this weekend, the National Weather Service said.

The remnants of a shear line will add some showers to the islands today and Saturday, forecasters said.

The trade winds will return on Tuesday.

Here's how the weekend weather looks at this point:

Today: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 86. East wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Isolated showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. East wind between 11 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: Isolated showers. The rain could be heavy at times. Partly cloudy, with a high near 84. East wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: Isolated showers before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. East wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday: Isolated showers after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 83. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday Night: Isolated showers before midnight. Widespread haze. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind between 3 and 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
