Schofield Barracks soldier buried today in Mississippi

COLUMBIA, Miss. — Pfc. Christopher McCraw, a soldier based at O'ahu's Schofield Barracks, has been buried following funeral services in Marion County.

The 23-year-old was killed Oct. 14 in Baghdad, Iraq, when his patrol came under attack.

He was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and the Good Conduct medals during funeral services today at Woodlawn Pentecostal Church. He was buried later at Foxworth Cemetery.

McCraw was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks.
